Brief

BrandWorks was approached by its founders to review and provide a complete refresh of their existing brand Posski - on its name, brand strategy, positioning, identity and design. A relative newcomer to the Point of Sale category, it is solely built on the iOS platform for iPad, easy to use, customisable and provides many features other POS systems simply don't offer.

Solution

The name, Abacus, was inspired by the oldest and most reliable money machine known, hence the name, and the uncanny similarities in shape and form to the iPad. The use of the finger to swipe with also inspired the letter and shape of the name.

 

The brand has been repositioned to be in the minds (and hands) of the business operator. Rather than promoting its features and specs of their POS app, the brand now looks to empowering the business owner to make their business the best it can be. In essence, with their easy to use functionality and extensive reporting capabilities, Abacus gives its customers ‘more time to work on the business’, not just in it.
